Tucker Tuesday: Tub Thumping

Tucker continues to recover from his aspiration pneumonia; his diarrhea issues have mostly cleared up and his appetite is much better than it was in the first couple of weeks after his return from the hospital. He still has some chest congestion, which we treat with “coupage”, AKA “percussion therapy”. This involves running the shower until the bathroom is very warm and steamy, then thumping on his chest in there for a while.

Tucker is not a fan of this procedure.

"Save me, Dada!"

“Save me, Dada!”

"Run away!"

“Run away!”

Whoa. Escape denied.

Whoa. Escape denied.

"If I see this on Dennis's blog, Dada, someone is going to pay."

  1. Oooh. We’re SO not fans of anything that is “for our own good” – it usually means cheeseburgers are NOT involved! But nice escape attempt, Tucker. Just think, as you get healthier, you’ll be able to run away faster! 😉

PeeEss: We’ve heard you are looking for some furs to replace the ones stolen from you at your vet visits. Mom has an entire trash can full of furs from our haircuts – we’ll have her card them, spin them into yarn and have our Granny knit you a sweater. Sound good?

What? No Chumbawamba playing in the background?! With all that steam, Tucker, you will have such a youthful glow that Dennis will be jealous and want in on the action. Glad to hear you’re feeling so much better!

Meanwhile, Dennis has a front row seat for all the excitement. It is nice to see Tucker motoring around so fast (even if it is to get away from the chest pounding).

    Hey Tucker!
Wow, I’m so glad you’re feeling better! Boy, I can tell by the look on your face that you think this is one crazy procedure. BOL But, if it helps, it’s worth it. Your Dada’s theme music made me wag!

  7. Looks like somebuddy’s gonna be paying, Tucker! I sure could tell how much you did NOT want to be coupaged. But it doesn’t look TOO bad. At least they didn’t puts you IN the shower. Now that would be just the WORST! Glad you’re feeling better!

  8. Too funny…all the things I was thinking as I watched the video, were pretty much captioned in the photos below. Oh, and by the way, Meadow likes your jeopardy song – she was wagging away to the tune. 🙂

  9. Oh Tucker – I think you’re awfully brave! That “coupage” thing would scare me too (well, anything involving the shower would! 😉 ) – but I’m glad it’s helping you feel better. You’ve really been through the wars lately, haven’t you? We’re always thinking of you (you’re my role model as a GREAT senior doggie!) and hope you continue to recover well!

ps. you know my human is planning to self-publish her 1st novel as an ebook in Sep – she is so excited because she’s finally going to become a “real author” like your Dada! 🙂
