Charlee: “A talking field mouse. / A smelly dog-headed thing. / It’s like a freak show.”
Vermin: “HISSS! Me! I am talking about me! I am the grey and white cat!”
Mouse: “Really? You’re a grey and white cat? Aren’t you Dennis the Dog?”
Poet Smurf: “There once was a small talking cat / Who hung around wearing a hat. / She heard a mouse speaking / And then started freaking / And said like pot to kettle, ‘You’re black.'”
Charlee: “‘Black’ doesn’t rhyme with ‘cat’ or ‘hat’.”
Producer Smurf: “AHHH! Stop smurfing in haiku and limericks!”
Chaplin: “I wonder if I could climb those drapes, and what I would find when I got to the top …”
Meanwhile …
Vermin (over Skype): “HISSS! Nasty mouse! You know I am not Dennis the Dog! I just disguised myself as him to carry out a series of heists while he was off being stupid as usual!”
Mouse (over Skype): “Really? I am so shocked. I would never have guessed that. Could you explain that to me again? Louder? Here, talk into this microphone so I can hear you better …”
Charlee (over Skype): “Two smurfs, megaphone / and scroll. More annoying one? / Let’s call it equal.”
Mr. Nibbles: “You see? Mr. Dennis was framed.”
Dennis: “Does this mean I’m off the hook?”
Spicoli: “Dude, ‘off the hook’ doesn’t even begin to describe you.”
