Throwback (Dennis) Thursday: Something Soothes The Savage Beast

Video taken August 3, 2013

Dada’s Note: Dennis is still (mostly) willing to eat his new prescription kibble, though he no longer wants tripe of any kind, fresh or canned. At his last weigh-in he had lost another pound. The consensus is that he is still not responding to his IBD treatment the way he should. There are also indications that his heart murmur has worsened again. Next Tuesday he goes in for a cardiac recheck, and if he’s deemed healthy enough for anesthesia, he will be going in for some imaging and a few other tests a few days after that, to see if there’s something else going on that we should know about.

  3. Best thoughts from all of us, Dennis. A thought to consider asking the vet if it has not already been tried is taking a steroid to stimulate the appetite. One of us takes 10mg of Prednisone every day. Certainly side effects to consider, but it does make us hungry.

  4. Hmmm, we need some of that soothing music in our kennel here at the boarding place – maybe it would help drown out all those barking neighbors:)

Dennis, keep eating that kibble and maybe you should get back on with that tripe. We hope your tests go well – feel better, pal.

  8. Dennis, Gilly and Hedy send you wiggly waggle tails and hope that all goes well with your tests at the vet. They went to have their teeth checked and they know the vets are really helpful. That is some pretty good snoring, Gilly snores too!!! Big pats for you.

  9. Dennis – we have our pug paws crossed for you! We were thinking we saw a natural supplement made by Dr. Harvey that is supposed to help with IBS.
