(Somewhat) Wordless Wednesday: Solar Radiation & Mama Therapy

Dennis & portable Christmas tree, coming home from his first radiation treatment

Dada’s Note:  Since Dennis injured his hip last Monday, which resulted in the discovery of an inoperable osteosarcoma in his pelvis, he has clearly been in a considerable amount of pain that is not completely alleviated by medication. Yesterday, he started his six-treatment course of palliative radiation therapy to relieve the pain of the osteosarcoma. His doctor says that we will know by mid-January if the treatment was effective. Fortunately, the odds are in Dennis’s favor, as over 70% of dogs do respond to palliative radiation treatments for pain relief. We will keep everyone posted on how he is doing.

  1. Please keep us posted sweet friends. We will be sending up prayers as well. Sending you many hogs and snout kisses. XOXO – Bacon

  2. Oh Dennis we’re so sorry you’re in pain. You probably don’t even let it show. Maybe Charlie and Chaplin can keep you occupied until the therapy works. Take care Dennis, the Vizsla. ☃️❤️

  3. Hello ,

I saw your tweets about animals and thought I will check your website. I really like it!

I love pets! I have two beautiful thai cats called Tammy(female) and Yommo(male).
Yommo is 1 year older than Tommy. He is like a bigger brother for her. 🙂
I have even created an Instagram account for them ( https://www.instagram.com/tayo_home/ ) and probably soon they will have more followers than me (kinda funny).

I have subscribed to your newsletter. 🙂

Keep up the good work with your blog.

  6. Stay strong, D. Just think of the radiation as super duper sunshine soaking into your boo-boo leg. It’s no fun feeling poorly, but Mom and I say prayers for you every day. We know you’ll be up and running soon. Meanwhile, enjoy all the extra attention!

    Love and licks,

  7. OMD! We’ve been absent for a long time and this is not the news we wanted to come back to. We are happy to hear that this is treatable though. We’re sending oodles of POTP! *Ear licks*

  8. Dennis, we hate hearing that you are having a lot of pain. We sure hope the treatments work well and quickly. Feel better, pal.

  10. We are pulling for ya, big guy. You are the second sweetest dog we ever met (except for our own angel Buddy who is watching over us and now watching over you too!) You big tall dogs have so much love to give and we all love you right back. Even us little cats, like your hipster kitties. We hope you feel 100% better ASAP! Luv, Patzy and Mommy

  11. We have everything crossed and hope you win the radiation lottery. Those are great odds. Please give Dennis lots of pats from Gilly and Hedy.

Leave us a woof or a purr!
