(Somewhat) Wordless Wednesday: Shadow of the Colossus

Dada’s note: I named and scheduled this post a few months ago. At the time I was just thinking of the famous video game Shadow of the Colossus and how much bigger Dennis is than Chaplin, but the title has taken on a darker shade of meaning in light of Dennis’s diagnosis last week.

Dennis’s lytic lesion, on the left, looking like a foggy hole instead of solid white bone at the top of his pelvis.

Today is Dennis’s final palliative radiation treatment. After this, we wait to see if, when, and by how much his pain is alleviated. This treatment is not intended to cure or kill the tumor, which can’t be done, but we do hope it will make him feel better and give him a good quality of life for at least a few more months.

  2. When Sammy Sam, cat had the tumor in his jaw, after awhile the medicine from our vet did nothing for him. Poor sweet thing would lay his head on my chest and moan. SOOOOOOOOOOOO I took myself down to a head shop and got him some LIQUID Hemp Oil designed to alleviate pain. The owner told me he used it on his dog for her cancer— that they learn quickly this helps and will come asking for it. He also told me that several other people have come in for the same liquid to help their dogs and cats in pain.
Very truly it did help. He was able to sleep comfortably, which was huge. Could even eat something after he had the drops, and often times would go outside for a kitty stroll.
If you are not adverse to using Hemp…I would highly suggest it.

Hugs to Dennis! My heart goes out to you, your wife, the cats, but most of all Dennis.
