Lulu’s Playtime Tips, Part 2: Sneak Attacks

Hello friendlies! Lulu here again with my assistant Penny for another playtime tip! This week we are picking up right where he left off last week, with Penny seizing the high ground and calling for a short break, ostensibly so we can rest for a minute. But, really, what’s a temporary cessation of playtime except—spoiler alert!—the perfect moment to stage a little sneak attack?

Pretending to take a break plus holding the high ground makes the perfect combination for launching a sneak broadside attack on the playtime participant who holds the low ground. Penny also demonstrates how not to ruin your sneak attack by doing growly play barks ahead of time, which would, of course, spoil the whole surprise. After the sneak attack, of course, you can do all the growly play barks you want.

Charlee: “We don’t really see a difference between ‘growly playtime barking’ and just regular barking.”
Lulu: “That’s because you don’t speak dog.”
Chaplin: “Excuse me, we’ve lived with dogs our entire life. We speak fluent dog. Check it out: Woof woof wag tail woof slobber roll in something stinky make sad eyes beg beg beg woof slobber.”
Lulu: “Yeah all right that was pretty good.”
Chaplin: “Told you so.”

At the end of her sneak attack, Penny then reclaims the high ground, setting herself up for another sneak attack later, or perhaps another maneuver. What will be her subsequent move? Tune in next week to see. Until then, this is Lulu, rolling over and out!

  3. Good for you, Lulu, getting Penny to play with you. The cats might have learned our language, but they don’t understand the culture, or how to play with us, and they sure don’t get the accent right, right? XOX Lucy and Xena
