Hello friendlies! Lulu here, with a little clips from the time not long ago when one of Dada’s cousins brought over some kittens she was taking care of. Dada’s cousin is involved in cat rescue and often has many cats and kittens of various ages that she is keeping until they can be transitioned to foster or permanent homes. In this case, the kittens were just about to exit the stage of being “bottle babies”, so they were very small and needed to eat very often. Oh, and they smelled very interesting. So I decided to adopt them as my own babies, at least while they were here. Have a look and see!
Being “bottle babies”, the kittens spent a lot of time being held in people’s laps and getting fed gruel directly from an eyedropper. I got to eat some of the gruel. It was pretty tasty, so I asked for more. I guess you could call me Oliver Twist except I actually got more when I asked for it.
Chaplin: “So that’s why you came in smelling of other cats that day. Shame on you.”
Mouse: “Since when did you start making Dickens references?”
Lulu: “What, you think I never read a book?”
Charlee: “I want to be like a bottle baby and sit in somebody’s lap and get fed all day long, too. How can I arrange that?”
Lulu: “I’m pretty sure all you would have to do is bat your eyelashes at Dada a little.”
Anyway, I spent most of the day outside hanging with the bottle babies, keeping an eye on them, kind of nudging them back to the blanket when they wandered off, that sort of thing. I guess you could say I adopted them as my honorary puppies.
Anyway, friendlies, just remember! Just because kittens aren’t puppies doesn’t mean they’re not puppies. Or something like that.
Lulu: “Kittens, puppies … Po-TAY-to, po-TAH-to.”
Chaplin: “Equating kittens with puppies is slander. You’ll be hearing from our lawyer.”

Those babies are really adorable and you were so sweet with them, Lulu! Our Tommy used to be really good with kittens too. Ollie is good with cats but not quite as interested.
