Tucker’s follow-up X-Rays, performed yesterday, have revealed that his lungs are now clear of aspirated fluid. His appetite has returned, but he is still down several pounds that he can ill-afford to have lost. At the moment he is on a diet of pretty much exclusively high-calorie Stella & Chewy’s freeze-dried patties, rehydrated in water so he can get them down more easily. Tucker thinks that’s pretty grand.
And what does Dennis get? A case of the envies.

Tucker continues to recover from his aspiration pneumonia; his diarrhea issues have mostly cleared up and his appetite is much better than it was in the first couple of weeks after his return from the hospital. He still has some chest congestion, which we treat with “coupage”, AKA “percussion therapy”. This involves running the shower until the bathroom is very warm and steamy, then thumping on his chest in there for a while.

For several weeks after returning home after being hospitalized for aspiration pneumonia, Tucker was suffering from a moderate level of diarrhea, then a general loss of, um, sphincter control. For now, protective pads have become ubiquitous everywhere he likes to lie down for a while. Dennis appears to think that these pads are intended for mat work.
Tucker continues to improve and his appetite has largely returned, although he still has some fluid in his lungs. (We’ve been performing “coupage” therapy for him to help him bring it up. There will be video!) He had a recheck yesterday that went well, with no further X-Rays ordered. Thank you to everyone for all the purrs, tail wags, and good wishes for the little old man!

He still had some fluid in his lungs at his last checkup, but the vet decided follow-up X-rays were not needed yet. He will be on Baytril for most likely at least another month. hello nice reederz its dennis the vizsla dog hay gud nooz!!! the vetnameez hospital kalld not long ago and sed tucker had awaykend and wuz lowdly demanding to come home after beeing in the intensiv kare yoonit overnite gitting flooids and meds and wotnot!!! he wil be bak on the majikal pil baytril for three weeks so yoo no wot that meens ekstra daily treets for tucker and he wil hav to go bak for another eks marks the spot ray before he is dun with the baytril but the prognosis seems gud or as wun of the peepul at the vetnameez hospital sed to dada “tucker luks a hunnerd persent better today becuz yesterday he wuz lukking pritty skarry”!!! yes miss hospital employee yes he did!!! and heer is tucker to us all abowt wot happend to him!!!
